Dutse — Jigawa State Governor Mohammad Badaru Abubakar has promised to sponsor winners of the state chapter of the Qu’ranic recitation competition to universities of their choice anywhere in the world.
The governor, while congratulating winners of the competition, added that those who came first in the five categories of the competition would benefit from the government’s gesture.
The winners of the competition organized by the state Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) comprised of five males and females.
In his remarks, the national chairman of JIBWIS, Sheik Bala Lau, called on Muslim youths to desist from living worthless lives and embrace Qu’ranic education.
“Islamic knowledge can afford someone a decent life while on earth as well as a rewarding one hereafter”, he said.
Yusuf Isa Chamo emerged overall winner of the competition.
